The Dhāraṇī of Noble Maṇibhadra

HOMAGE TO THE TRIPLE GEM.
Thus have I heard: At one time, the Bhagavān [Buddha] was staying at Śrāvastī in King Jetavana’s Grove, in the contemplative garden of Anāthapiṇḍada. Then the great general of the Yakṣas, Maṇibhadraputra, went up to the Bhagavān; and having gone there, bowed his head at the feet of the Bhagavān, and sat down to one side. Having sat down to one side, the great general of the Yakṣas, Maṇibhadraputra, spoke the following words to the Bhagavān: “Venerable Sir, if any monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen or anyone else recites this Heart-Essence [Dhāraṇī] every day during the three parts of the day, then I shall always follow after that person, do everything that person needs, seek out food, riches, gold, jewels, grain and silver for them, accomplish all their aims, put all sentient beings under their influence, instantaneously accomplish all the various activities of that person; and cause them to be free from poverty.”

“If you recite this [Dhāraṇī] seven (7) times, then there will be accomplishment.”
“The ritual of this Dhāraṇī is as follows: If, on the fifteenth (15th) day of the waxing moon, one cleans oneself, scents with the smoke of aloe wood [akaru] during the three times of the day, and recites this Dhāraṇī seven thousand (7000) times, then gold shall be found.”
THE DHĀRAṆĪ OF THE NOBLE MAṆIBHADRA IS COMPLETE.
